LG K3 (2017) is a low-end offering in LG’s refreshed K-Series, which also features the LG K10, K8 and K4. It shares a lot in common with the K4, but for the smaller display and selfie camera.

LG K3 (2017) parades a solid design, although its body appears to be made of plastic. It’s curvy and has a textured rear, ensuring comfortable grip. But this is no slim device, with thickness of roughly 9.5 millimetres.

The LG K3 (2017) sports a 4.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. While this is smaller to that of the K4 (2017), images should come out a tad sharper. The pixel density is roughly 218 ppi.

You will find a 5 megapixel camera on the back of the LG K3 (2017). This has LED flash, autofocus and voice activation features. It shoots HD (720p) videos at 30 frames per second. A 2 megapixel sensor for selfies looks rather measly. But features such as gesture shot should make selfie taking an exciting experience.

There is only 8GB inbuilt storage for keeping your photos, videos and other files. But the phone can accept a 32GB microSD card for expansion.

Performance of the LG K3 (2017) will be similar to that of its K4 sibling. This is because it also packs a 1.1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 quad-core processor. LG K3 (2017) comes with 1GB RAM and an Adreno 304 graphics solution. Users who only do basic tasks on their phone shouldn’t have a lot of problems here. It can be said that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS on offer provides decent value.

On the inside of the LG K3 (2017) is a 2,100mAh battery with a rated talk time of nearly six hours. It can last roughly three weeks on standby, according to estimation. You may be pleased to learn the juicer is user replaceable.

One cool thing about the budget device is that it supports 4G LTE. It offers microUSB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with hotspot.
